Lifetime Achievement & Service Award Recipients
TBA – Lifetime Achievement Award in Feature Film
This award, which is given to a Director in recognition of distinguished achievement in motion picture direction, is the Guild’s highest honor and the recipient is selected by the present and past presidents of the Guild.
TBA – DGA Presidents Award
This award, which is given for leadership and extraordinary efforts in enhancing the welfare and image of the Guild and the industry, is bestowed only by a unanimous vote of the sitting and former DGA Presidents.
TBA – Robert B. Aldrich Service Award
This award is given in recognition of extraordinary service to the Directors Guild of America and to its membership.
Mark Hansson – Frank Capra Achievement Award
This award is given to an Assistant Director or Unit Production Manager in recognition of career achievement in the industry and service to the Directors Guild of America.
Valdez Flagg – Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award
This award is given to an Associate Director or Stage Manager in recognition of service to the industry and to the Directors Guild of America.
TBA – DGA Honorary Life Member Award
Given in recognition of leadership in the industry, contribution to the Guild and the profession of directing, and outstanding career achievement.
Robert A. Fishman – Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Television Direction
The DGA Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Television Direction was created by the Board of Directors in 2015, joining the Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction as the two highest honors bestowed by the DGA. Winners are nominated by a blue-ribbon committee of prominent television directors and approved by the present and past presidents of the Guild.
